An exciting and inspiring course with a member and former Vice President of The Royal Society of Portrait Painters. This five day intensive portrait painting masterclass will look at the fundamentals of creating a meaningful and eloquent portrait. Working from the model in our light filled studio, Andrew will offer technical and theoretical tutorage. An opportunity to gain from a highly regarded and successful practising artist. The Masterclass will start with a demonstration by Andrew from the model. Andrew will talk about his work and hold a discussion on working from photography.
We offer intimate class sizes which are capped at 9.

Working from Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, UK. Andrew James is a highly sought-after artist, who has worked on many prestigious commissions of public figures. Winner of the Carroll Foundation Award in 1998. Andrew was previously the Vice–President of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and is a member of The New English Art Club.
The studio is on the edge of Lewes in East Sussex. Go along Old Malling Way and just past the red post box on your right is a small turning on your LEFT, go SLOWLY (10mph please) down the long track and the studio is at the bottom; a 3 minute drive from the town centre.
